Top Trends in Wedding Welcome Gifts in 2019

FILED IN: Wedding Welcome Gifts

Since we began offering concierge gifting service for custom wedding welcome bags, boxes and bags back in 2014, we've noticed several trends that have come onto the scene and aren't showing any signs of slowing down!

Dogs in Gifts

Our clients love their dogs. I mean LOVE. So naturally it makes sense that they rally behind the idea of incorporating their pups into their welcome gifts. From custom cookies to hand-drawn or painted illustrations for their welcome booklets and gift tags, we can't get enough. We've had several Old English Sheep Dogs, multiple Goldendoodles, German Shepherds, a Bulldog or two, and several other breeds that I'm sure I'm not even remembering. Welcome Booklets

As couples opt for full blown wedding weekends with several events in addition to the wedding itself, welcome booklets have become a great way for couples to share logistical details with their guests. They map out the events of the weekend (including welcome dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after party and farewell brunch), share transportation information, list fun things to do in the area along with a personal message of thanks from the couple to welcome their guests to town. Custom Maps

Maps are still very much a thing. Whether they're practical walking maps that actually help direct guests around the area or more decorative maps, these maps seem to be a wedding trend that is here to stay! We love that they can pull double duty by being used in the invitation suite and then again in the welcome booklet or even on a tote bag for guests to take home as a keepsake! Monogramming

We've heard people say that monograms are just a Southern thing but based on what we see, nothing could be further from the truth. Of course we have done plenty of southern weddings with monograms everywhere, but we've also done gifts with monograms for modern urban weddings too! Ranging from classic to more whimsical, they really are a great way to make the gifts personal to the couple! This is definitely a trend in welcome gifts that we hope is here to stay. Locally-Sourced

Especially for destination weddings, highlighting locally-sourced snacks and keepsakes is a fabulous way to welcome guests to town. By giving them a little taste of the city they're visiting, they immediately feel at home and intrigued by the area around them. Who knows, thanks to you, maybe they'll even extend their stay beyond the wedding and take some time to explore! (Image: Lissa Ryan Photography)

Couple Specific

Our favorite thing to do when designing custom wedding welcome gifts is reflect elements of the couple's life together in the gift boxes. From a custom cookie with the logo of the alma mater where they first met, to sweet treats from each of their respective home towns, or even a water bottle featuring the sports team they're both obsessed with, the possibilities are endless! Welcome Dinner Displays

With the increasing popularity of welcome dinners where all guests are invited on top of people's ever-growing obsession with AirBNBs, we are more and more delivering the welcome gifts to the location of the welcome dinner where they're styled beautifully on a display as guests walk in and then are able to take one back with them at the end of the night. This way, all guests get one no matter if they booked into the hotel block or not. (Image: Lissa Ryan Photography)
