We adore the very talented wedding planners from Engaging Affairs, and we teamed up with them to design gorgeously classic custom wedding welcome boxes for a Newseum wedding in downtown D.C. While most of the museums in the city are historic by nature, the Newseum is much newer making it the perfect setting for a soiree with timeless flair and a hint of modern style (plus, the best sunset views from the balcony!). With the setting and the couple’s style in mind, we put our design skills to work.

The couple’s palette included pink, ivory, and gold, and the Engaging Affairs team also made sure to mix in tons of beautiful textures. We wanted the gifts to incorporate the same colors and similar textures, so we began with a white hat box. The box was tied with a gold ribbon, and a gift tag complete with “welcome” and, our favorite detail, their unique hashtag, #wethesilverweds!

Inside each gift, the couple wanted to offer guests a warm and festive welcome. A personalized letter from the bride and groom was the first piece guests saw once they opened their hat box. We also love that the couple thought to include a timeline of events! Reminding your guests of all of the festivities is the best idea.

After an initial welcome, guests were encouraged to enjoy Perrier paired with nuts from Lush Gourmet. We’re sure both served as a enjoyable, lively, and refreshing snack after a day filled with travel. An amenity bag complete with Advil was sealed with gold washi tape because we love to keep every detail in line with the wedding’s aesthetic and palette. We also love to include a piece guests can take with them as they travel home, which is why we turned to Capital Teas and included local tea.

We happily dropped off welcome bags at area hotels in D.C. for the guests, and we imagine everyone had a wonderful time at this Newseum fete!
