Featured on BRIDES // Modern Welcome Boxes for New York City Wedding

We’re always honored to have our work published in national publications and this feature in Brides is certainly no exception! We loved collaborating with Baltimore-based Lemon & Lime Event Design on this one and what made it especially memorable was the fact that the bride is the sister of Katey Clark, Lemon & Lime’s co-founder. The pressure for creativity was on!

Katey asked us to create modern, yet fun-loving, welcome gifts that would also reflect the black and white color palette of Molly & Andrew’s Tribeca rooftop celebration. So, naturally we selected chic black hat boxes as the gift packaging and built from there.

For contents, we really wanted to try and tell some of the couple’s love story as we always aim to do when designing custom wedding welcome gifts. (If you’re DIY’ing your gifts, here are some tips on how to achieve this!) We included items local to New York including salt water taffy and New York Seltzer cream soda. We also includes custom cookies of the couples’ alma mater, Indiana University, a sweet nod to where they first met! (cookies by Fresh Bakes). Also tucked inside each box were foldable maps of the city along with small amenity items (think: Advil, Pepto, Emergen-C) packaged in mini treat bags and closed with black and white striped washi tape!

We finished the gifts off with black and white striped ribbon as well as a “welcome” gift tag featuring the couple’s hashtag…#mundosinmanhattan. So fun! But let’s take a moment to talk about these custom welcome letters with a painting of the couple’s precious pup (who was very much present on wedding day!) dressed up as Lady Liberty. There are just no words for this level of cuteness so I’ll just stop right here.

And now for some more details from this ultra chic wedding so you can see how all the details came together including a lush bouquet of lilies, garden roses and magnolia leaves. Also, the modern black and white tablescapes with accents of gold along with the couple’s ultra-modern and super fun invitation suite.

Featured on Ruffled | Winter Wedding Welcome Box Inspiration at Virginia Wedding Venue The Black Horse Inn

Posted by: Jamie Kutchman | Founder

When Cate Thorin, owner of Ivy & Honor, approached me about creating a fall-into-winter wedding welcome box for her upcoming editorial shoot with Lissa Ryan Photography at the Black Horse Inn, I was immediately on board. While there are countless wedding planners and wedding photographers who get together to create beautiful fall wedding inspiration, I immediately knew that this opportunity was be unique because of the special focus on family heirlooms.

We selected an antiqued wood crate with a slight grey wash to give it an older more weathered look. We filled it with a black bottle of bubbly, some citrus to mirror the citrus elements used throughout the rest of the editorial, and gourmet cookies packaged in a drawstring pouch.

For finishing touches, ivory tulle lined the crate for a softened look along with pine cones, dusty blue silk ribbon and a hand-lettered calligraphy tag by Poppy & Scooter. Now let’s check out some of the other gorgeous details that the design team pulled together, starting with this lush tablescape complete with dreamy autumn florals (La Fleur du Jour).

As I said before, the heirlooms that played a role in this editorial gave it a meaningful and everlasting feel. First, a bible that had been in the family for generations along with vintage family photos and even an heirloom engagement ring (Trumpet & Horn)!

And can we talk about this cake (Catherine George Cakes) for a second?! The classic white with the pops of deep navy and plum really make a statement together! And then the stationery suite complete with custom illustrations and endless hand lettering, all by Lady G Paperie.

And now for the most important part of all, the bride and groom. With the bride’s dramatic makeup (Makeup by Kevan) and dreamy, feminine gown (Wren Bridal) plus the groom’s dapper attire and sincere expression, this is one is one for the ages.

It was such an honor to collaborate with such a talented team and we cannot wait to do it again. Even though we are super busy with creating custom wedding welcome gifts and corporate event gifts for “real” events, it’s always a great to exercise your creativity with editorial shoots. Thank you Ruffled for the feature and thank you Ivy & Honor for including us…again soon please!

Featured in Southern Weddings Magazine // Virginia Wedding Welcome Gifts

Truth time. I almost fell over and died when I realized our Virginia-inspired wedding welcome gift box design earned a full-page spread in the most recent issue of Southern Weddings magazine! I’m not only thrilled to share with you the feature but also dish all the details behind this very special Virginia-themed gift.

We wanted a very natural, yet refined, look for this design. I set the tone with a natural pine box and filled it with gourmet trail mix in a drawstring bag, almonds in a clear glass jar, two fresh pears, Pellegrino, and a cookie in the shape of a dogwood by Two Sugars Studio. The dogwood is state flower of Virginia!

We finished the gift off with a soft sage silk ribbon and modern calligraphy gift tag by Poppy & Scooter. A custom welcome booklet featuring the couple’s names and a hand-drawn illustration of their wedding venue was designed and bound with coordinating velvet ribbon. Also by Poppy & Scooter.

We are HUGE fans of Southern Weddings around here and so it’s a huge, amazing, fantastic, unbelievable honor to be featured! (Not to mention, I’m a Virginia girl born and raised so all Virginia gift designs have a special place in my heart.) We’d love to hear your thoughts! Leave us a note in the comments or reach out via our contact page. For more information on custom gift design for Virginia gifts or any other state in the US, visit HERE.

We’ve had our curated gifts featured on TV a few times but with that said, I don’t think it will ever get old. It’s always a huge honor and let’s face it, it’s a great way for me to prove to my parents that “gift designer” really IS a legit job title.

For this feature, we were invited to be a part of Wedding Wire‘s Hottest Wedding Trends of 2017 segment. In the gifting arena, a big wedding trend we’ve been seeing is designing gift boxes around a specific theme. For example, brunch-in-a-box! It was a total thrill seeing two of our welcome gift designs show up on the screen of Good Morning America!

Check out the video clip HERE!

Our gift designs were up on the screen for mere seconds so just in case you didn’t catch them, here are the brunch-in-a-box wedding welcome gifts that were featured.

The first, French-inspired hat boxes with fresh croissants, jam, Badoit sparkling water, biscotti and more.

Featured on Style Me Pretty // Grecian-Inspired Welcome Boxes for Congressional Country Club Wedding

We are a bit behind in sharing these very special wedding welcome gifts created for dear clients of Lauryn Prattes Events but definitely think they’re worth highlighting! This is one of our favorite custom gift designs featured by Style Me Pretty in 2016.

The bride and groom, originally from Greece, wanted to turn their Congressional County Club reception into an oasis mimicking the look and feel of a Greek island. Naturally we wanted to incorporate details in their custom welcome boxes that would mirror the Mediterranean vibe of the wedding reception. We included mini Greek walnut cakes from Buttercream Bakeshop as well as olive oil imported from the footsteps of Mt. Taygetos included by Lauryn’s team.

We also included gourmet truffles with floral imprints, mini Pellegrino bottles, as well as a welcome booklet designed by DC-based Winifred Paper. We finished the boxes off with blush ribbon, a hand-lettered calligraphy tag by Poppy & Scooter and fresh olive leaves for a final Grecian touch.

Recently, when our friend Heather Miller of Hitched by Heather Events told us she’d be appearing as a guest on WJLA Let’s Talk Live to chat about wedding gifting trends, we were honored that she asked us to get involved! While many couples still choose to DIY their wedding welcome gifts and bridal party/groomsmen gifts, there is definitely a movement towards outsourcing these responsibilities so couples can truly enjoy the last remaining weeks leading up to the wedding. And this is exactly where our bridal party and groomsmen gifts come into play.

Check out the segment HERE! Heather is a total natural!
