Intern Intro // Law Student & Creative Liz Bargamian

FILED IN: Behind-the-Scenes, M&G Happenings

This small business is a team effort. I value my relationships with my employee and interns and while they help me out tremendously, I want them to have a solid opportunity to learn and grow at the same time. Liz reached out to Marigold & Grey at the perfect time just as we were winding down our wedding season and gearing up for a crazy holiday season. She's studying for her LSATs to enter law school but something is gnawing at her to explore the creative world as well. Not sure what being around the studio (and attending Tuesdays Together Bethesda meetings) will do to her interest in law school, but we're thrilled to have her and can't wait to see what her future holds!

And now, a little Q&A with Liz...

Tell me a little about yourself.

My name is Liz Bargamian, and I graduated in May from Elon University in North Carolina with degrees in Psychology and Religious Studies. I’m currently studying for the LSAT, and interning for Marigold & Grey is the perfect compliment to my studies! I love to travel, and one of my favorite things in the world is going to a new city and seeing the sights, eating the foods, and taking it all in. Chicago is next on my list (I’ve never been)!

What are you most excited about for this internship?

I’m very excited by the fact that interning with M&G means getting to experience all aspects of a small business –custom ordering, customer relations, branding, assembly, delivery…the list goes on and on! It’s the perfect introduction to what it means to run a small business.

Where else have you been an intern?

While I was at Elon, I always had a part time job (or three!) to help me afford living in North Carolina over the summers. So this is my first true intern experience! In the coming year, I’ll be heading to Atlanta to intern for The Carter Center, and I’m sure that my experiences at M&G will help me on that new endeavor!

What would your dream wedding consist of?

I would love to have my mom help create the floral arrangements. I have watched her create so many bouquets and boutonnieres over the years, and would love to have her contribute her talents to my big day! Other than that, my biggest wish is to have a big band to encourage lots of dancing!

What’s your favorite thing about Marigold & Grey?

So far, my favorite thing about Marigold & Grey is the way that Jamie integrates the growth of her own company with fostering the creative community around her.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years I want to be working for a company that brings me joy and challenges me in equal measure. I want to keep learning no matter where I end up, and always be looking for the next step.
