Intern Intro // Amanda Johnson

Happy Monday everyone! I probably sound a bit more cheerful than I normally do on Monday mornings and this is because I get to introduce Amanda Johnson here on the blog! A rising senior at Villanova University and a Maryland native, Amanda joins the intern team with a passion for marketing, PR and all things social media. One day she aspires to apply these skills to building a sustainability non-profit organization. I absolutely love hearing her big dreams!
During her initial interview, I asked her what she's exceptionally good at. Without hesitation, she explained that she's resourceful, not easily stressed out, and a great problem solver. She also said that she LOVES to tie ribbon. I immediately knew I HAD to have her on board! I'm super excited to show her all the ins and outs of running a small business. Please give Amanda a super warm welcome!
Q: Tell me a little about yourself:
Hello! I’m Amanda Johnson and I’m a Communications Major at Villanova University. Although I grew up in Olney, MD, I’m still a bit of a city girl—while at school I love taking time to explore Philadelphia, as well as coming home to discover new finds in D.C.! When I’m not posting on Marigold & Grey’s blog, Pinterest, or helping to assemble the perfect gift, you can find me out on a nature run, practicing yoga, or in the dance studio!
Q: What part of this internship are you most excited about?
It’s such a cool opportunity to be involved in all aspects of Marigold & Grey; I’m really interested in and excited to witness the growth of Marigold & Grey from a business standpoint. I can’t wait to assist Jamie on photo shoots and get the chance to experience the inside of the industry!
Q: What is your favorite thing about Marigold & Grey?
The fact that each gift is individually designed for a special client and put together in our own little studio is my favorite thing about Marigold & Grey. It’s so personal and unique!
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
There are so many things I want to do, see and accomplish in my 20’s. Five years from now, I hope to be benefitting my community by working at the head of a sustainability-focused non-profit organization. Within that time I also plan on traveling through Europe, especially perfecting my French accent in Paris!
